In reply to Katie. I struggled a little at first with the deadbolt lock, but I adjusted pretty quickly and it works perfectly! Small security alarms sounds awesome, too! We are hoping to get a house next year during residency so we will have to look into those! Thanks!!!

We need to get some of those door knob locks – Jack is always trying to go outside! It scares the heck out of me. Though, I always have trouble open those myself haha. Great tips though. Never can be too careful! My brother and sister-in-law have these little door security alarms they got for pretty cheap at home depot or something – not as good as a home security system, but it gave them peace of mind (especially when my brother had to work graveyard shifts at Vivint.)

In reply to Kersten. Oh no! Yeah, we love that one! It can be screwed into the wall or it comes with little rubber things that you can tighten against the wall (perfect for apartment living!). And it's perfect for any size, too! Yeah, the dead bolt lock gives me great peace of mind with my tricky toddler!!

Our baby gate actually just busted. It was a hand me down that I never liked so I’m not too upset;) I’ve been looking at other gate options and I’m really like the one you linked too! Thanks for the suggestion! And I had no idea they even made dead bolt locks! My son can’t reach ours now, but I’ll have to remember that!
