We used Disneys Rider Switch program and it worked out so great with the small kids. Its nice to still be able to go on all of the rides when you are traveling with small children!

It's called the Rider Switch Service and you can read more about it on the Disney website here, but basically your whole group goes up to the ride entrance, you tell the cast member at the ride entrance that you want to do the Rider Switch, and then you split up into who is riding the first time, and who is waiting with the person who can’t ride (in our case, this was my husband, my two older kids and me, and then my mom and Little R). The cast member then scans your tickets (if you have the app, they scan them on your phone), and then the first group goes and rides the ride. When they are done, they come back and you switch who waits with the person who can’t ride. They go back up to the cast member, who scans their tickets, and then they get in the Fast Pass lane and go ride the ride. The person who waits gets to bring up to two other people, so when we went my mom was able to ride with my two older kids while my husband and I waited with our baby.

In reply to Susana. My kids are the same age & this is our first Disneyland trip. We’re soooo excited. So of course I’m googling and looking up any and every tips I can get until we on our flight. I’m so thankful for screen shots because you absolutely gave great tips for me & my 3 kids well 4 because my husband is just as a big kid too. Knowing he has no idea so he can’t help me in preparing for ideas or planning. Well thanks Chelsea for all the tips and advice I feel more prepared now.

Thank you so much for this post. I am planning a trip with my will be 4 year old and 21 month old next December. This post made me pull the trigger and buy the package! You also convinced me to get the character dining which I have been debating for weeks now. THANKS! i’m even more excited now than I was before.
