That's great! I'm sure she watches you trying to improve yourself and learns from that! Thank you for your example! And good luck on your parenting journey, too!

Yes, yes, yes! Great post Chelsea. Doing lots of similar things with my 7yo daughter to try and set a body positive mindset early, before peers and social media have too much influence. I've mostly been overweight as an adult so being body positive is a challenge for me but knowing I have impressionable young eyes watching my every move, I focus on using the right terms.... I say that I go to 'healthy club' rather than calling it Slimming World and always say how much I love my tummy because I grew something wonderful in there. She thinks the forbidden F word is actually fat... at least for a while longer I hope!
Good luck continuing your parenting journey. :)

Bravo! Such a great post. Although I don't have daughters, I've found it's important for me to be body-positive around them as well. Not only do I want them to love their bodies, too, but I want them to respect everyone else's body, too. I've always had a very low self-confidence about my body, and it's something I am constantly working on to be better and more positive about. I've been working out every day regularly for a while now, and I've found that it's helped me a lot. I'm not losing very much weight, but I am coming to love and appreciate my body more. I go to a barre class 3 times a week, and it's such an empowering feeling to be with women of all different shapes, sizes, and ages. Our bodies are amazing!
