In reply to Brooke. I know this is an old comment, but just in case anyone reads this…using salted butter will definitely make an extra salty garlic butter dip! A 1/2 cup (1 stick) of Land O Lakes salted butter alone contains the equivalent of about 3/8 tsp. of table salt. That’s 3x the amount of salt that this recipe calls for.

Would this recipe work with salted butter? I unfortunately do not have any unsalted at the moment and I’d like to make this sauce to go with some store bought cheesey breadsticks.

In reply to Melanie. It's definitely not a white sauce, but you could liberally brush a pizza with this and then follow with toppings like with a margherita one. I personally find them dry and would end up then dipping in pizza sauce. ;)
