My family has recently been on a quest to find delicious, hearty breakfasts to help us start our day off right. And Quaker® Oatmeal is always one that we keep coming back to. The only problem is that having a bowl of plain oatmeal every day can get pretty boring, even if it is a great option.
When I heard about the Quaker® “Bring Your Best Bowl” Contest, I knew I had to come up with a delicious new recipe to jazz up our morning routine. I tried to come up with something that hadn’t been done before, but was easy and only used a few ingredients. And I nailed it. Introducing Chocolate Chip Cookie Oatmeal.
Despite what you might think, this has no actual cookies in it. This hearty, chocolatey bowl of goodness came together in less than 5 minutes using only 5 ingredients. And it’s amazing.
My kids gobbled it up and kept asking for more. And if two picky toddlers will eat it, you know it has to be good.
First, I combined 1/2 cup oatmeal, 3/4 cup milk, 1 Tbsp. cocoa powder, and 1 Tbsp. brown sugar in a microwave-safe bowl.
Then I microwaved it for 2 1/2 minutes, stirred it up, and let it cool.
To finish my Chocolate Chip Cookie Oatmeal bowl, I stirred in 1/3 cup mini chocolate chips and sprinkled 1 tsp. brown sugar on top.
It was DIVINE. So chocolatey, so gooey, and so yummy. Like eating a chocolate chip cookie for breakfast! Who could say no to that?
